1. The Constancy of our worship... our life-long walk. [Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise...]
2. The Context of our worship... a world going to hell.[making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.]
3. The Core of our worship is what God has done for us... the gospel.[Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.]
4. The Contrast to our worship... what the world does for itself.[And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit...]
5. The Content of our worship is what God has given us... the Psalms. [addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with all your heart]
Colossians 3:16 - Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
The Content of our worship drives the Culmination of our worship... teaching and admonishing one another.
2 Timothy 3:16 - All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness...
6. Confluence of our worship... thankfulness. [giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,]
7. Cohorts in our worship... friends to whom we submit our secondary desires. [submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.] |
