Last week we saw how the calling of being a Christian includes the call to follow in the sufferings of Christ. This can mean enduring mistreatment in life - even when we are seeking to do good. Peter continues with this call to follow in the footsteps of Christ in relation to marriage relationships. In 1 Peter 3:1-7, we'll see how wives and husbands can live in a Christ-like way with their spouse, even within the complexities of sin and struggles.
This instruction isn't just for wives and husbands, however. Peter's exhortations show us Christ and therefore ways that we all can continue to follow in his steps in how we relate to others.
In preparation for listening to this sermon, it is beneficial to re-read Peter's instruction starting in 2:11 and go through 3:7.
