Romans 13 is one of the most well known passages in the Bible... sort of! Christians have been silenced often when dealing with the Government by those who advance Romans 13 as the "Divine right of Kings." But how are we really supposed to understand this passage. During this sermon, Dr. Baucham orients us to Romans 13 and begins to explain what this passage means to us. This is part 1 in a 4 part series.

Great Sermon! I think your perspective is good. I think we need to define how we got to this point. Clearly we have lost freedoms, and I think it’s caused by irresponsible living and our own hypocrisy as Christians. Gods discipline hurts.
I am very upset about the division in my church because most of it stems from blatent ridicule and criticism of the Democratic Party. Why would any of them listen to us about anything in our proclaimed self righteousness. These is no gentleness and respect.
I’m sure you agree that the left may not know Jesus. Most of them believe that in order to be a Christian, they need to become Republican.
Christ, and Christ alone is what saves us! Not our works or politics. While we need to preserve the society else have, we know it does not end well in this world.
Again, I do like your perspective on the whole of the situation.

Loaded with Conviction Thank you Pastor Voddie, for reminding us of what separation of church and state really means! Messages like this need to heard all around this country. It is impossible to not legislate morality. After hearing this message, I've been convicted that I have had the attitude that Christians should not pay much attention to politics. From that, I repent. Thank you. May The Lord continue to prosper you and your family as you continue to faithfully preach His word.

Excellent Sermon! Among other issues that are NOT being preached from the pulpit, this is the defining one! BTW, do you have a clone in the Sacramento area? :)

Responsibility Dr. Baucham nails American Christians to the wall with this as we face our own pride and rebellion. We have no right to look at the sin in our society when we fail to confess and *forsake* the sin in our own lives. Thank you, Voddie! Do not stop preaching the truth and more importantly living the truth, even when it costs.
Voddie Baucham wears many hats. He is a husband, father, pastor, author, professor, conference speaker and church planter. He currently serves as Pastor of Preaching at Grace Family Baptist Church in Spring, TX. He has served as an adjunct professor at the College of Biblical...
