Many today claim to be experts in selective, specific areas, but no one knows everything, except for one person-- God! Our magnificent God knows everything, both the actual and the potential. He knows what was, is, and will be plus what could have been. Unlike us who learn new things every day, our God knows everything immediately and from eternity. Plus He knows the end of all things plus the best means to achieve His ends. This we call 'Wisdom'. David, in Psalm 139, is awed by God's knowledge of him. God knows what we do each moment of the day. Also He knows our motivation or why we do what we do. He knows what we do in private as well as in public. He even what we are thinking before we express our thoughts. Our God knows everything. Knowing that God knows it all will either comfort or convict us. It is comforting to know that God knows our needs in life, our service done for Him, and our frailties and sinful tendencies-- and still loves and accepts us. God knows those who belong to Him and how to keep them safe for eternity. But it is also convicting in that nothing escapes God's notice and every hidden act and word will be brought to light. The fact that God knows everything about me cuts out any pretense with God. God knows everything about us and loves us in spite of what he knows. So, we can be real with God, no masks, no pretense. Which leads to genuine awe or worship of God! What a great God, the God who knows-it-all!
