It is not always important for us to have our way. When we insist like that we are being a hindrance or a stumbling block. A stumbling block causes someone else (at someone else's expense) to fall into sin. If we are not careful our knowledge will puff us up and knock someone else down. Our freedom push someone off the road. Our liberty can hurt feelings deeply. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in things that we miss what is truly important. We start showing love than we are encouraging and that is help, not hurt. Not everybody grasps the same thing, rather than beat them over the head with what amounts to trivia help them learn from the heart. Rather than indulge our freedom at the expense of the weak (newborn's in Christ, the backslidden, those spiritually beaten up already) explain, encourage, comfort these so they can grow as well. Everything is not written down in black and white so we need the guidance of the Holy Spirit so as that we can be an encouragement not discouragement stumbling blocks or a hindrance.
