God commanded the prophet to marry a cult prostitute as an object representing God's issue with Israel. Three children were born and named to send a message to the people. Hosea's domestic life was both repulsive to his inclinations and an overwhelming sorrow in the experience. However, Hosea's redemption of his fallen wife graphically illustrates the heart and holiness of God in redeeming His bride unto Himself.
