The latest installment in our evening Bible study through the Book of Revelation. In this lesson, we recap what we discussed last time, then went into some detail through Revelation 1:1-8.
In particular, we discussed the concept of "soon" in reference to Jesus' statement that the things contained in Revelation were to take place soon. We also delved into the threefold description of Jesus as the Faithful Witness, the Firstborn from the Dead, and the Ruler of the Kings of the Earth.
We concluded with an analysis of Revelation 1:7 in which the coming return of Christ will be "with clouds" and that "every eye shall see Him" and how the people will "mourn the One they pierced." We looked at Daniel 7:13-14 as the origin of the reference to the "Son of Man coming on the clouds."
