This sermon inaugurates the new sermon series on “The Worship That Pleases God.” There have been divisive “worship wars” in the Christian church ever since the so-called “Jesus Movement” and the introduction of what has become known as “contemporary worship.” As a result there has been a great deal of confusion about worship in the minds of many believers, while others are settled and have adopted a style preference that has become equal to the gospel in importance. A major problem I see, as I scan the landscape of the modern church, is that there is much talk about worship BUT very little worship that is truly “Theo-centric.” In the same way, there is much emphasis upon style and methods BUT very little worship that is truly “Christo-centric.” This series will address the issue of the nature of biblical worship. May the Lord bless His Holy Word.

Great Sermon! All truths here!! When sermons like this touch my heart I can't help commenting:too much modernism has corrupted true worship, many churches today are caught up into an entertainment centre rather than preaching on the atonement and singing from the hymn book taking care not to offend anyone worshipping the creature rather the Creator. I quiver with shame,no one has time to listen to weaklings or you might be accused of causing division in the church. Thank you for this truthful message. I love pastors that speak the truth no matter what the outcome might be. Cindy
