We all need heroes. Those individuals who capture our respect and draw out the best in a given area of our lives. Leaving their mark on our pursuit of excellence and enjoyment.
When I came to Jesus Christ at 19 years old, He became my everlasting Hero. Someone infinitely beyond any one in the world of surfing, bodybuilding, martial arts, guitarists, skiing, great classic authors, who had a profound effect on me up to that point in life.
As Jesus Christ & living for the glory of God became the center of my life, I was so excited to read and learn of other men who had walked with the Lord, great Redwood Giants who had gone before me living their lives on fire for Him, standing as faithful examples of true Christianity. Men like Richard Baxter, Thomas Watson, George Whitefield, Charles Spurgeon, and in more modern times David Martin Lloyd-Jones, to name just a few. Each has been a gift from God in my life.
Yet, contemplate this...thankfully, the Lord isn’t finished adding to the list. In recent years while teaching through the Old Testament, I met a new hero. This grand and glorious example of a godly man,one who has a tremendously important message for all of us today. He name is Phinehas. He is found in the book of Numbers, chapter 25. It is my desire to share him with you, through this message and the article found by the same name on this site among the edocs.
May the Lord richly bless you as you experience the influence of the faith of Phinehas in your you life.
