Preparing to study the book of Acts means some important background information is necessary. This will help us better understand the larger picture of where we have come from in the Scripture up to this point, and where we are heading. Acts is a bridge book in so many ways. Up until now the focus had been on Israel. Now the focus moves to the church. Before it was focused on Israel. Now, the gentiles are on equal standing with the Jews. Christ's ministry moves from one incarnate in the flesh to one working through the Holy Spirit from Heaven. Our perspectives are challenged as to how we view God's unfolding mission in this world. This message, which is part 1, sets the stage for the rest of our study of the book of Acts.
