As our exposition of Luke continues we see the Lord's compassion on a leper. We discover that leprosy is in reality a picture of our great sinfulness. That it spreads and devours us and will ultimately condemn us if not treated. We see that Jesus has the power to cleanse us of our sin. But also that He is compassionate and willing to heal even the chief of sinners if they would come to Him. All of that is encompassed in this blessed phrase, "I will: be thou clean".
