Seeking God is spiritual, and comes about because we choose to do so, it doesn't just happen. Many Christians today can't conceive of the idea of being truly close to God because Satan has convinced them that it is impossible. David humbly recognizes God as the provider of all things and acknowledges that the kingdom of God is greater than any earthly kingdom.Believers can allow their identity in Christ to guide them through their dual citizenship—first as citizens of heaven and second as Americans."While the story of scripture and the story of America are not always in conflict, they are not the same story. The end goal of America is not the Kingdom of God. The Christian story, the story of God's redemption of the world through the person of Jesus and the work of the Spirit, forms us toward a different way of life than the story of America does. 4. To be certain, American history includes commendable acts of bravery and sacrifice in the name of freedom. It is right and good to remember, honor, and respect the people and effort that has been made to ensure the freedoms that we experience in this country. We do well to show our thankfulness to God, as David.We too often see America as somehow more 'real' than the kingdom, and our country as more important than the church. The kingdom of God is perfect in every way; that certainly can't be said for America. We are called to be in the world but not of it.we live out our faith in a diverse country, we would be wise to live according to the "most important" commandments: "
