Had there been no I. C. Herendeen, we would probably know very little of Arthur W. Pink!
During the dark days when the large publishers steered clear of writers with a strong Calvinistic view, a small tract depot in Pennsylvania began publishing the books, booklets and tracts of an English writer, Arthur W. Pink. This tract publisher was headed up by I. C. HERENDEEN (1883-1982), who also joined with Pink in starting a magazine for strict Bible teaching, STUDIES IN THE SCRIPTURES. The rest is history for the people of God who have valued this Christ-centered teaching since about 1920!
In 1917 Arthur Pink and his bride were living in Spartanburg SC, where he pastored the Northside Baptist Church. At that Southern railway station Herendeen and Pink first met, as the publisher had come to SC for first-hand coordination with his author. There a very vital bond was formed, and the two devoted their lives to sacrificial proclamation of the Gospel.
If you can discern his words in this old recording you'll find your faith strengthened, hope encouraged, and will seek more fully to be about the one essential duty of a Christian β to know your Lord and make Him known.
When in the late 1960s Lawrence and Amy Nelson took over the publishing of Pink's smaller works, under the title of "Chapel Library" located in Venice, Florida, they turned to the retired Mr. Herendeen for godly counsel, and eventually asked him to record a brief testimony for them, giving his experiences laboring for the cause of truth, and showing the Lord's faithfulness in all circumstances.
