Paul wrote to these Christians because they were in a bit of a muddle. False teachers came in and brought confusion to their thinking on what Christ came to really do. The confusion still exists today. If we are not sure about what Christ came to do, we will be unsure about the Church's mission or the message the Church is to preach.
