Predestination and Freewill: every system of theology tries to categorize the Word of God. Our human minds can't reconcile both freewill and predestination, but our faith can. We are chosen by God before we are born and He knows all that has happened, is happening, and what will happen, but we choose to accept or reject salvation. We can't understand being pre-chosen and having freewill, but just have faith. It's ok. It's very complicated, but we accept it by faith. The bible teaches both issues and whether we understand it or not doesn't matter.
9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls. “Even” and “your” are not in the original translation. This word ‘soul' can be changed to ‘life'. Anytime you see the word “soul” in the bible you can change or interpret it as the word “life”. We are made of body, soul, and spirit. They are three different things. Soul is life, spirit is what allows us to recognize a supreme being, and the physical container for these on earth is our body. 10 Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: This salvation that we received today, the prophets of old wrote about this ages ago and they didn't understand what they were writing. Isaiah 53, psalm 52, and hundreds of others wrote about it but didn't understand it and researched it and inquired, but couldn't figure it out. We are in the church age, and we are not in the Old Testament. The old prophets each wrote bits and pieces of the future: one wrote He is coming, another wrote He'd save mankind, yet another wrote of His death…but there was nothing about the Age... |
