These next 3 chapters are called “The Suffering Chapters” because they speak a great deal of suffering and how we should deal with it as Christians who are living in a world that's lost, dying, dark and bad things go on everyday. We are living in a darkening world that is demonically inspired, and the end of the age is approaching as evidenced by what's going on in the world-politically, socially, environmentally… These chapters talk about the trials and tribulations that we meet in our daily lives.
6 Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement. We are not to call our husbands lord; we are just to recognize their authority and respect him. Wives are to take their position in the home not to be inferior to husbands, but as a help-mate. Husbands have a greater responsibility because God put them in a leadership position over the household, but wives have a great influence on their husband's behavior.
7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered. Likewise, if the woman takes her place in the home as second to the husband, the husband needs to take his place as leader of the home and do right and not abuse the power and authority. He is to protect her, take care of her, guide her, and make sure she's not fooled and led astray by things in the world. The man is the main responsible person in the household.
