The Bible repeatedly tells Christians that they should not grieve for their dead as the Pagans grieve for theirs. For instance, here in Deuteronomy God's children are told they must not cut or disfigure themselves as a sign of their grief.
But the Bible does NOT tell us we should not grieve at all, we should, but it should be as people who themselves are looking forward to the resurrection both of themselves and their loved ones who have died in Christ.
Therefore let us grieve when we bury (not cremate) our dead, let us resist the 'death culture' that is growing up around us, and let us look forward in hope for that day when death, the last enemy, shall be crushed under the feet of the conquering Christ.
