Marriage Counseling from the pulpit--shotgun style on Sunday night.
This is the story of Michal, Saul's daughter, as she met David returning to Jerusalem with the ark of God. She saw David dancing "before the Lord" and despised him. When he returned home to "bless his household" she came out to meet him and severely rebuked him.
Michal displayed some deep rooted issues with her critical words and spirit. She was malicious and the Bible says that she had no child till the day of her death. Unfortunately, with David's multiplied wives, contrary to scripture, he did not have to seek reconciliation in his own home.
A critical spirit is prone to complain, super judgmental, blinded to fixing the problem, lacking discernment and robs everyone of blessings.
Once again, the Bible offers all the counseling we need simply by reading it and attending to what it says.
