Idea: When overcome by struggles and trials, the only way to find encouragement is to look to God Himself. He has revealed His power, goodness and wisdom so that we may “wait on Him.” He has revealed Himself as the powerful creator of the universe, who spoke and all things came into existence. He has revealed Himself as a mighty Redeemer, bringing His people out of Egypt by signs and wonders. He has revealed Himself as a compassionate provider, even giving manna in the wilderness. And most importantly, He has shown His power, goodness and wisdom by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to save us from the penalty and power of sin. I have the privilege today of proclaiming to you, “Behold, your God!” I have the privilege of calling you to wait on the Lord, to find encouragement in trial by looking to God Himself. Consider with me the power, goodness and wisdom of our God.
1. Power 2. Goodness 3. Wisdom
Conclusion "Why do you say, O Jacob, And speak, O Israel: “My way is hidden from the Lord, And my just claim is passed over by my God”? Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.
