Moses' encounter with his father-in-law Jethro the priest of Midian falls in two parts:
(1). The Meeting with Jethro (vv. 1-12).
(2). Jethro's counsel on shared leadership (vv. 13-27).
Jethro admonishes Moses not to carry the burden of the people alone. It is good neither for him or the people. Here we see a Biblical basis for shared leadership in the church as seen in places like Acts 14:23 and Titus 1:5.
The church is looking for good and godly men to step up and take on the burdens and blessings of spiritual leadership.
