Today is the eighth Lord’s Day devoted to this subject. We could easily call this series, “True and False Conversion”, for that has been our emphasis, attempting to clarify true conversion from its counterfeit, false conversion.
Now, before a person is converted through the regenerating grace of God, God “prepares” the sinner to bring him to the place and point of conversion. If we understand God’s normal ways of bringing sinners to salvation, we may become better servants of Jesus Christ in seeking to be used of Him in this great preparatory work of souls with view to their salvation. Knowing the common way in which God brings sinners to Christ, will also enable us better to undeceive the many spurious, nominal Christians that are in our churches. Today is the second Lord’s Day in which we will give attention to this aspect of the conversion process of a sinner into a saint.
