In this sermon I am going to build on what we have already explored in our study of the seven miraculous signs of Jesus. I will draw upon the text of Acts 2:1-24, but this will not be an exposition of the text. Rather, I am going to develop the theme of “the power of God, the miracles of Jesus, and our present need for true revival.” We desperately need a display of the power of God, but what would that look like in this age of redemptive history? Now, in this sermon I will begin by making several undeniable assertions. These all have to do with the reality of the miraculous as it relates to the Christian faith. From there I will probe how to rightly understand divine miracles and this is where I will reference Acts 2:1-24. And, finally, I will look at knowing God's mighty power as that relates to our particular church. A brief and pointed application will conclude the sermon. Once again it is my prayer that God will be truly pleased to bless His word preached as we continue our study of these fascinating miracles of Jesus, and the power of God active in redemption.
