This Sunday we will study Acts 4:15-22. In the passage, we see the response of the council to the Peter and John. They could not deny the miracle. They could not deny their boldness to preach Christ and Him crucified. They could not deny that it was done to glorify God since that was the reaction of the people to the testimony of the mercy of God to the lame man. They decided that because that they would just issue an idle threat to Peter and John which they responded that they should not listen to them more than God. Often, we can hold back preaching the gospel because we are afraid of the response. May we be encouraged by the testimony of Peter and John to boldly preach Christ with an expectation that God will be glorified. Probably not by our healing a lame man, but trusting that God will use our boldness as His ambassadors to expand His kingdom and to bring glory to our God.
