Revelation Lesson #067 KING OVER THEM: The beast ascends from the Bottomless Pit at the end of the witness of the two anointed ones, "And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the Bottomless Pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them" (Revelation 11:7). Since the Antichrist himself would already be on the earth at this time, this king is a spiritual being who enters the physical body of the Antichrist and thus becomes Satan incarnate. There is much conjecture on the identity of the Antichrist. Through the years, Christians have labeled various religious and political leaders as this "man of sin" including Nero, Constantine, William Jefferson Clinton, Henry Kissinger, and nearly every Pope who has ever worn the crown, to name a few. Biblical evidence points more toward an individual we are more familiar with—Judas Iscariot! Consider the following summary. 1. Judas is "a devil" (John 6:70-71) 2. Judas is Satan incarnate (Luke 22:3, just as Jesus is God incarnate) 3. There is a king over the Bottomless Pit whose name is Apollyon or Abaddon. These two words mean "perdition" (Revelation 9:11) 4. The Antichrist is called "the son of perdition" (2 Thessalonians 2:3) 5. Judas is called "the son of perdition" (John 17:12) 6. The Antichrist "was, is not and shall be." Judas certainly could fit this description. (Revelation 17:8) 7. Judas went to his "own place" (Acts 1:25). 8. There are two other men who have their "own place" and both are types of the Antichrist (Genesis 31:55 and 2 Samuel 18:18) 9.
