Nebuchadnezzar "believed" himself in balance with the spiritual forces surrounding him; in fact, he was not in balance with God. Through grace God warned Nebuchadnezzar; purpose of the vision. Modern people believe themselves above such pagan thinking when in fact they use terms demonstrating that they also think in terms of worldly balance: fairness, equality, etc. But, like Nebuchadnezzar, they are not in balance with God; only deceived.
