Pastor Dale Thornton looks the amazing faithfulness of Daniel, Hannaniah, Mishael, and Azariah. Daniel was about 17 years old when taken captive by Nebuchadnezzar and moved to Babylon. He and his 3 friends had the opportunity to eat the king's meat, but refused to do so since the meat had been offered to pagan idols. Pastor Thornton has had this exact same challenge on the mission field in Taiwan and shares his encounter with the dietary challenge. The pastor expresses his gratefulness to have so many home-educated children in our church because these children often have that same kind of courageous character that Daniel and his friends had. There is a brief personal comment at the start of this sermon because 8/9/2017 is the 60th wedding anniversary of the pastor and his wife.
