The focus turns back to Jacob as Joseph sends for him to come down to Egypt. He has been through a long dry stage, spiritually. The loss of Joseph had broken him, but upon hearing that Joseph was yet alive and seeing the wagons that Joseph had sent to bring him to himself, his spirit revived. He finally had some light back in his life. It is encouraging to us because we go through similar times of spiritual drought in our lives, also.
