The enemy got the word that David was made king and they were tired of dealing with David, so they came to get him. They spread themselves out figuring they would win. But David went to God and He delivered the victory. The victory wasn't long lasting because they came again. Life is full of small victories but we can't rest on them. The enemy will come again. And too many Christians when this happens just throw up their hands and quit. But God knows the enemy is coming again and wants us to talk to Him about it. The enemy may look the same but the method of victory from the last time may not work this time. Now when we stop and ask the Lord what to do we must also follow the instructions. It's important to listen to the Lord because the enemy may think he knows how to beat you but God may be turning the tables. It requires us to trust the Lord or it will all be in vain. Obedience is the key to winning when the enemy keeps coming at us. Let's stick with what we know works, the instructions of God.
