Habakkuk was so deeply affected by his time in prayer that his heart was pounding, his lips quivering, his body feeling weak, and his legs wobbling. What was it that had impacted him? Have you ever been impacted like this in prayer? Habakkuk was complaining about the wickedness of Judah around him, so he protested to God. God answered that He was raising up the wicked Babylonians to punish Judah. Habakkuk protests to God again, that it didn't make sense that the Holy God would punish His own less-holy people, by means of extremely unholy barbarians. The Lord encouraged Habakkuk by assuring him that He would consequently punish the Babylonians for punishing Judah with a proud and cruel attitude. Trembling Habakkuk completes his prophecy with a God-given song, to keep the spirits of God's people encouraged as they face the dreaded coming punishment. This is an overview of the entire book of Habakkuk.
