Born in 1560, Jacobus Arminius became one of the most controversial theologians in history. Falling into era, Arminius led numerous people and pastors away from the true doctrine of God's Word. As a result of this era, the Synod of Dort met and concluded that the doctrines of Arminius were contrary to the Scriptures and should not be taught. Because of Arminius' five points of era, the Synod of Dort summarized the doctrine of the Bible into five points which was named Calvinism in honor of the great theologian John Calvin. These five points were in direct response to the five points of Arminism. The five points of Calvinism teaches a biblical system of thinking and handling Scripture.
