The language here indicates that Paul is virtually in disbelief at how the churches in Galatia are drifting from the gospel so fast. For perspective, Paul was writing to them only about 15 or so years after Christ had ascended to heaven. These were first generation Christians and yet they had already started to drift from the truth of the gospel – and just to make a very early point of application to us, friends if the Galatians can drift so soon after Christ, so can we. The reality is no matter how faithful we are today, it doesn't mean we're going to be faithful 5 years from now and certainly not 5 decades from now. We have to stay serious about the gospel and not be influenced by our culture or drift in the church at large because if we're drifting from the gospel, then we're drifting from God Himself.
