Continuing in the metaphor of a flock of sheep with shepherds, the good work of the bishop is the two-fold work of a shepherd, to lead the flock to good pasture, while also protecting them from wolves. In plain language, the good work of the bishop is to teach the church what is true, while also resisting the teaching of what is false.
