God gave Paul a special burden for the young people at this service. About 10 young people professed Christ within the days following this service. Many years later, about 5 of them were still living out that profession. Thus, Paul's warnings in this sermon about continuing in the faith were well justified.

“ reply to CA ” Psalm 22:1, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" is a prophecy that Christ fulfilled (Matthew 27:46). Verse 10 seems unlikely to apply fully to David (or any man), "On you was I cast from my birth, and from my mother’s womb you have been my God." Consider verse 16 and the cross, "they have pierced my hands and feet" (that never actually happened to David, David said it metaphorically, but Christ experienced it literally).
From what I have heard, in Christ's day, they didn't have Bible references with chapters and verses, so if a rabbi wanted to draw your attention to a certain Psalm, he would do so by quoting the 1st verse. So Jesus in quoting this verse, could have been drawing our attention to the fact that He was the fulfillment of this entire Psalm (not just v.1)
Often in O.T. prophecy, it is fulfilled in a minimalistic way historically, soon after the prophecy is made (thus prophecies about David's kingdom), but those same prophecies were ultimately and spiritually fullfilled in Christ. So David said it and fulfilled it on a lower level, but Christ fulfilled it on a higher level.

“ Some confusion ” hmm would someone let me know this
Okay so to begin this a sermon that we need to live. Praise the Lord.
So i know that Paul had talked about Jesus and the cross but i was confused when he used psalms 22 and he maid it seem like Jesus was talking there. And i allways thought that David was the one expressing these feelings. Is Jesus really speaking in that chapter. thank you. 'smile
