For the first time in the sermon on the mount Christ now directs the attention of His hearers to Himself. He wants to make sure that His hearers understand exactly why He has come and so He states His mission both negatively and positively. 'Think not' He says, 'that I am come to destroy the law or the prophets' - there's the negative expression of His mission and in that expression there is an implicit command to avoid wrong thinking. 'I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.' There's the positive statement regarding His mission. In this study we focus on how we must avoid wrong thinking and engage in right thinking with regard to Christ's kingdom mission. We can avoid wrong thinking and engage in right thinking: 1. By Appreciating the Aim of Christ's Mission. 2. By Knowing the Reason for Christ's Mission. 3. By Realizing the Intended Effect of Christ's Mission.
