Why in the world would God ordain a persecution of His church in America today? For what possible reason might we be subjected to persecution?
Kevin Swanson suggests the ELCA decision to ordain homosexuals, and then adds a few other reasons why judgment begins in the household of God. He refers to the severe Diocletian persecution, and the state of the church during that time. Then he draws some comparisons with the state of the church in America today. Could we use a good persecution?
Finally, Pastor Swanson provides a list of things God really wants for His church, drawing from Isaiah 58 and Zechariah 7:8-14.

Great Sermon! We need to be forced to fight for the faith. There is so much preaching about the love that is not truly love.

Great Sermon! Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law by being cursed for us
Galatians 3:13
HOW DOES MALACHI 3 APPLY TO CHRISTIANS IN THE AGE OF GRACE! I agree we should give Jesus our hearts, mind and soul but Malachi was spoken to Jews under the curse of the law, not the redeemed under grace.

Great Sermon! Thank you for this message; it is another confirmation to what the Spirit revealed to me some time ago. It may not be popular, but it is true. Please pray for my humility as I serve the Lord. I don't want to displease him. Also please pray with me to find a church home. I liv ein Tacoma, WA. Most preaching here is centered around money and building programs. I am not against either but, something is amiss. We should be drawing closer to God through prayer and the word. I am hungry for God. I don't care about the material blessings. I had it all and it left me empty.
