Having seen and heard the Risen and Reigning Messiah, standing upon the earth, uniting Jew and Gentile by His matchless sacrifice, John proclaims that which he is given to the church to know concerning the plan of God for the Church. This mystery which Christ has revealed is that He is Lord of both Jew and Gentile, and His work of redemption, the shedding of His own blood unites all men under One banner, that banner of Christ for Sinners. This "mystery of God" now "finished" or fulfilled was to be taken by John, and others to all "peoples, nations, tongues, and kings." Thus we are given a reminder of who we are to called to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ for the conquering of the nations, according to Christ's great commission. Because Christ stands upon the earth, the mission of the Church will succeed to both Jew and Gentile.
