What a surprise for a young lady to discover that her husband is actually a rich heir when she has already resigned herself to a life of meager means! Moreover, it had all been an elaborate plot to mislead her. Yet in this misleading, every person had her best interests at heart. This is the type of wonder we find in Romans 11. God has wonderful intentions toward His people. At different times throughout history, God's intentions have been understood with differing degrees of clarity. Now, however, through Paul, God has granted His people an exciting window-seat so we can see something of the wide span of His kind plans for His people. Just as the young lady of whom we spoke earlier could have no idea of the blessings coming her way, and how they would become hers, so also, God's people have been eagerly waiting for the plot to be revealed. The final outcome in Romans 11 spreads before us a wonderful, wise, breathtaking, beautiful design. As Paul closes this section, we surely must exclaim with him,
"Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom anda knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out! “Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?” “Who has ever given to God, that God should repay him?” For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen."
