God still works miracles, but He never does it on command, or to create faith in an unbeliever. The requirements are really pretty simple. There must be a need, and someone must ask in faith, believing. It does not require great faith, but simple faith in what God has promised. The nobleman here in this Scripture left Jesus to go back home to his dying child without a token of any kind. All he had was the few words of Jesus, "Go they way, thy son liveth." That is all he had, but he got a miracle, and much more. He believed the words of Jesus, and then later we are told that he "knew." The token, the confirmation, came after faith and obedience. That is the recipe for a miracle. Do you need a miracle?
