Yep…were still looking at Daniel 11. Today were going to look at the prophecies fulfilled in verses 29-34. Again, Daniel continues to accurately predict the future in this amazing prophecy. Dan 11:29 At the time appointed he shall return, and come toward the south; but it shall not be as the former, or as the latter. The two brothers Ptolemy VI and Ptolemy VII worked out their differences and joined together against their uncle Antiochus IV. Because of this new alliance in Egypt, Antiochus IV was not successful in his next attempt taking the south. Dan 11:30 For the ships of Chittim shall come against him: therefore he shall be grieved, and return, and have indignation against the holy covenant: so shall he do; he shall even return, and have intelligence with them that forsake the holy covenant. As we continue on here, notice once again just how amazing Daniel 11 is. We see one event following another in a perfect progression of what historically happened. Here is how this verse was fulfilled. The two Ptolemy brothers seek help from Rome to deal with Antiochus IV. Rome agrees to help and sends ships from Chittim (Cyprus) to stop Antiochus's advancing army. The Romans humiliated Antiochus IV with orders to leave Egypt immediately. Antiochus, grieved and angered, took out his anger on Jerusalem on the way back to Syria. Dan 11:31 And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate. Just like Daniel 11 says, Antiochus IV stops the sacrifices in the Temple, desecrates it by sacrificing a pig on the alter and sets up an idol of Ze
