Philippians 2 summarises the trajectory of Christ's redemptive work, from his glory with his Father through his humiliation in his incarnation and death, and then his exaltation as the God-man.
Philippians 2:9-11 tells us that "therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
This language builds on past reality (Christ's eternal Godhead and temporal humiliation), speaks of present reality (for he now has the highest place, the highest name, and the highest honour), and points to future reality (when every knee that should bow, and every tongue that should confess, will do so).
