God is not satisfied in just saving us, he wants to transform us. We are saved for a purpose to be used for his Glory. We come the way we are a sinner, but he doesn’t leave us as we are 2 Corinthians 5:17. We are new creatures. God was working in Peter’s life, his heart, and his devotion to Him. How much would you have to hate a person to never witness to them and let them go to hell? 1. How Peter responded to the Lords instruction, each required more faith than the other. 1. Thrust a little from the land. 2. Launch into the deep. 3. Let down your nets. The Lord wants us to obey him in the simple things, then we exercise faith in the bigger things. Example for us, Launch out, a little, be baptized after saved, then read bible every day, hand out tracks, dedicate you life to God. 2. Peter recognized the Lords Authority, verse 5, Master submitted himself to the authority of Jesus. Self is the typical Master. A lot of people serving God the way they want. 3. The action he takes, “at thy word I will let down thy net”. Partnership were developed, people came over to help. The perspective was altered. Go d has somebody he wants you to lead. |
