This is prodigal land folks! It's not about going to a different physical location. You can step out from under the blessing and protection of the Father and never leave home! It's just about us deciding we know better than He does and doing things our way.
When we live for this world instead of for the Lord and with our eyes on our eternal home in heaven, We end up squandering His blessing in a foreign land. That always leads to eating with swine.
Now the good part. The son comes to his senses. Down and out and miserable he realizes that the servants back home have it better than he does. Heading home he has no idea what kind of reception he is going to get.
The Father, is watching. He is watching all the time.
If you have wandered, the Lord is watching for you today.
How does the father receive the son? Not just willingly, but running down the road!
