Today we are continuing to look at Christ's prayer in the upper room. He has prayed for them, that the Father would keep them. He prayed this in their presence so that they could have His joy in them, filling them. Joy in the midst of trials, suffering, and fear. Knowing that the Father and the Son are working together to keep them is a security we can rest on. On my own, I would fall, but if the Father and Son are keeping me, I will be kept. It should change despair to an eternal, living hope and joy. We have fellowship and oneness with each other and God. Now He continues in prayer, showing us what and how He is keeping us. This is tremendously important today. It is another part of our foundation in understanding our place and responsibilities. He prays, but He also points us to the means that He is going to use, the words / Word of God. His Word is going to do a work in us. It will also have results in us and in the world. It is being missed in much of the church today. Let's take a look what our keeping involves.
