The gospel of John differs from the gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke in that the first three gospels speak about Jesus as Messiah, whereas John speaks of Jesus as God, "the Word was God," and "the Word became flesh." (John 1:1 and 1:14)
There are two themes of John; the primary theme is God revealed to man, and the second theme is the Holy Spirit's work. As we study the gospel of John, let it speak to you. Absorb it, because it was written by the apostle who saw Jesus, walked with Him, was taught by Him, touched Him, and was present at His transfiguration, at His crucifixion, and at His ascension.
The gospel of John will provide, without question, the answer to the most important and inescapable question anyone could ask; a question every human being ever born must give an answer to, either in this life or in the world to come:
Who Is Jesus Christ?
