As we work through the second table of the Law, we are fundamentally dealing with loving the neighbor as we are loving God. In the 8th commandment we deal with the neighbor in his possessions. We must treat our neighbor even as ourself. It is God to whom all things belong, as He created them, and we are stewards of what we have been given and what is given to others. At the basis of this commandment is that all things are God's, and the distribution of things are done so by God. As a result we must respect how they are distributed and what has been given to our neighbor.
