Exemplary fatherhood can't be reduced to physical discipline. It includes teaching and nurturing. It involves confrontation, because you care; reasoning with your children from a position of truth. You desire your children to change in order to live lives that honour God. Scripture even helps us to know where to start and what to say. Children need to learn the fear of the Lord, wisdom, to think, how to choose friends, purity and self-control, the danger of sin, the danger of lying, how to love other people, how to work, how to handle money, and how to choose a wife or husband. These are a father's responsibility. Teach them or they will be taught by the world.
