Paul, undoubtedly the second most influential and significant character of the New Testament, was eager to die for Christ and came under tremendous accusations of being against the people, the law, and their religion. So too, today preachers of the true gospel are verbally attacked with accusations suggesting that we don't want people to be or get saved; they say that we are against the rest of the world's teaching of the gospel (their religion) and the law of what the rulers of religion teach. Those of us that hold to the biblical teaching of election and predestination as it relates to salvation, can expect to share similar attacks as Paul. The world of religion has always hated the doctrine of grace. The world will attack with their words, but would also attack physically if it were possible. Thankfully, in the United States of America, religious freedom protects our right to preach openly and freely. We conclude agreeing with Paul saying in verse three of Philippians chapter three having 'no confidence in the flesh'!
