“ Satan: First Rebel ” It is important to remember Isaiah 14:12-15 in times like these, since Satan was the first rebel. This sin of rebellion by Satan led to the beginning of rebellious organizations like the Vatican and the World Council of Churches. Our Protestant Reformers understood that the pope is a rebel against The Lord, which is why they identified the Antichrist with the papacy.

“ Popery: Sin of Rebellion ” This sermon clearly shows that the sin of rebellion is made manifest in popery. The now deceased Catholic popes of the past were rebels against The Lord. This also means that the living former popes and even the current popes are rebels against The Lord as well. Popery's rebellion against The Lord is seen in its false gospel of sacramental salvation, worship of idols of Mary and the saints, desire for a one world church and religion, acceptance of the false religions of the world like Islam and Hinduism, and so forth. We ought to note Proverbs 17:11 and Luke 6:26 in times where the World Council of Churches and the Vatican have good publicity with the masses. It is clearly seen that the Catholic popes have good publicity with the masses around the world, but it is because these popes are preparing the world for the coming of the Antichrist, who is also a rebel against The Lord.
