vv1-2, "sickening evil" contrasted by what is good (Ecc 5:18-19). Wealth without true worship is a waste; prosperity without propitiation by Christ is perdition; honor without the Holy One is hell. Since all belongs to Christ (1 Cor 6:20), then all we have received by God's grace can only be ours to enjoy according to our embrace of His grace in Christ: thus, much grace, much joy; little grace, little joy; no grace, no joy (Eph 4:7)
vv3-6, No enjoyment of God's good things because such are steeped in sin & walk not in newness of life (Rom 6:4). stillborn (untimely birth, KJV) compared with a "prosperous" life steeped in sin.
v7-9, appetite (vv7, 9, ESV) or desire (v9, KJV) = נֶפֶשׁ (NE-fesh) "soul"; 6:7-9 reinforce Ecc 5:8-12 as "those who cannot be satisfied" since the unjust & oppressive (Ecc 5:8-9) & the lovers of money (Ecc 5:10-12) are like those who labor for their mouths with no priority for their souls (Ecc 6:7-9).
