The two inter-twined stories of the woman with the issue of blood and the raising of Jairus' daughter form a very sweet window into the heart of our Lord Jesus. The woman had suffered from her affliction for as long as this little girl had been alive. She was ceremonially unclean, isolated from contact with her fellow Jews, and incurable. But faith gave her one glimmer of hope: there was a man in Capernaum who was said to be able to heal anyone. She knew that if anyone could help her, it was Jesus. And in the midst of any number of conflicting emotions Jairus had faith to believe that Jesus could heal, and if needs be raise from the dead, his sickly daughter. The faith of both proved to have not been placed in vain!
